We are happy to waive the $65 application fee for students that visit Penn State Greater Allegheny or meet with a Penn State Greater Allegheny Admissions Counselor at your high school, college, or a college fair.
Here’s what you need to do to receive an application fee waiver.
Step 1: Visit Penn State Greater Allegheny
To register for a Penn State Greater Allegheny campus visit or admissions event, go to our Schedule a Visit page.
We will also waive your application fee if you meet with a Penn State Greater Allegheny admissions counselor at your high school or college or at a college fair.
Step 2: Get your high school transcript
Obtain an unofficial transcript of your grades from your high school guidance office. You'll need this to complete the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) portion of your Penn State application.
Step 3: Fill out your application
Fill out your Penn State application through MyPennState or the Common App. When you get to the section that asks for your credit card information or payment, STOP. Do not enter payment information or submit.
Step 4: Submit the fee waiver request form
Complete the fee waiver request form below. After we receive your request, we will process your fee waiver and email you to let you know that your fee has been waived and that you can finish submitting your application.
Note: Do not pay the application fee or enter your payment information when filling out your application. If you do, we cannot waive the fee or refund your money.
